Glide and sink

Publié le par Matthieu

Useless wings over fat body
ice-proof feet to run
on the frozen ground
they chase each other in circles

Forming chains of dark shapes
in the morning snow storms
they all know each other
even if they all look so much alike

Youngsters play hide and seek
behind boulders and snow mounds
adults tell them stories
of a time with more land

More space to play,
more ice to glide on
they venture onto thin ice
and sink into the depths
of the coldest ocean.
